On this day we honour the children who never returned home and the survivors of residential schools.
Public commemoration of the tragic and painful history as well as the ongoing impacts of residential schools is a vital component of the reconciliation process.
It is recognized as a holiday in both the Structural and Reinforcing CBAs.
