    Haw, Alan John It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Alan John Haw, who left us on August 30th at the age of 60 after a courageous battle. Al was the cherished partner of Cathy Patten, the love of his life, with whom he shared countless memories and adventures. Al was a beloved brother to Vicki, Doug, Dennis, and Gary. He was loved by his many in-laws and extended family. Though he never had children of his own, he found joy in the company of his nieces and nephews, along with his many great-nieces and nephews. He was also known as Grandpa Al to Maddy. A man who enjoyed life, Al had a passion for hunting, fishing, and sharing drinks with good friends. He loved to tell a good story, always ensuring everyone had a laugh and a great time. His legacy is one of laughter, friendship, and a life well-lived. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A celebration of Al's life will be held at the Dundalk Legion, 109 Proton Street North, Dundalk on September 14, 2024 from 1 – 4 p.m., timed to respect hunting season. May he rest in peace.

    It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our cherished brother, Liberato (Libby) Masucci, on June 12, 2024, at the age of 59. He will be deeply missed by his mother, Rosaria; his brother, Tony, and sister-in-law, Mirella; his sister, Mary (Raffaela), and brother-in-law, Phil. He will especially be missed by his nephews, Joseph, Sebastian, Ryan, and Jordan. Libby is now reunited with his father, Giuseppe. Libby was born in San Massino, in the Province of Campobasso, Italy, and came to Canada when he was 5 months old. He was very proud of his Italian heritage. Libby’s greatest joy was spending time with his family and watching the Boston Bruins play hockey. He was an avid sports enthusiast who loved watching all sporting events. Affectionately known as Uncle Buck, Libby loved seeing his nephews and always had a big smile when they visited. For those who knew Libby well, his unique way of speaking was infectious. Although he has departed from this world, his spirit will continue to fill the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him. He will be terribly missed and most remembered for his infectious laugh and sense of humour. He will always be remembered as the life of the party. We will cherish our special memories of him, carrying them with us through difficult times and celebrating with them during the good times. Libby’s memory will forever be a source of comfort to all who were blessed to have known him. May he rest in peace.

    Gary Bosse of Cochrane, AB, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2024, at the age of 47 years. Gary was the loving father of his two sons, Adonte Bosse and Angelis Bosse. He was a beloved son to Gilles Bosse and Sandra Bosse, with his mother predeceasing him. He is also survived and cherished by his brother Mike Bosse, and little sister Michelle Bosse. Gary will be greatly missed by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends.

    It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Douglas Ford Anderson on May 9, 2024, at the age of 71. Doug was born in Brandon, Manitoba on July 13, 1952, to parents Kay and Walter. On June 28, 1975, Doug married his beloved wife, Rhonda. Doug was an ironworker with Local 721 Toronto for 31 years. He retired in 2006 and enjoyed travelling and touring in his corvette. Doug loved spending time with his grandchildren, boating, golfing, camping, or just hanging out at the river in his zero-gravity chair.

    Doug is survived by his loving wife Rhonda (nee Freeman), his sons Dereck (Kim) and Troy (Jeanine). Proud grandfather of Nicholas, Holly, and Ethan. Doug was an uncle to two nieces and 2 nephews, and great uncle to four nieces and one nephew. Doug is also survived by his mother Kay (nee Ford), his brother Jim (Sandie Ezeard), his sister Darlene (Clay) Sawyer. Doug is predeceased by his brother Daryl and his father Walter.

    It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth C. Butler in North Bay, Ontario on April 23, 2024 at the age of 86. Kenneth, fondly known as Kenny, was a devoted husband to Lillian and loving father to Cliff, Marion, Sandy and Patti (predeceased). Kenny will be greatly missed by his six grandchildren Jennifer, Chad, Karrie, Nathan, Che and David, as well as his many great grandchildren. Kenny came from a long line of ironworkers which included his father and two brothers. His proud work on a variety of construction projects have stood the test of time and include the Burlington Skyway, the CN Tower and Canada’s Wonderland to name a few. He brought his passion home with him and always seemed to have a project on the go. He loved nothing more than to putter at Trout Lake and was always the first to lend a helping hand to friends and family. Kenny had a huge heart which extended to animals of all kinds. In keeping with Kenny’s wishes, cremation is to take place. A private celebration of his life will be held for family and friends at a later time.

    Erik Odgaard Pedersen passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 16 2024 at Peterborough Regional Health Centre, at the age of 87. Beloved husband of the late Elin (nee Knudsen) and father of late Lille Erik. Loving father of Anne (her husband Andrew), Inge (her fiancé Jason), and Tove (Erik’s son in law Sam). Proud grandfather of Tanner (his wife Chelsey), amazing Gpa to Joey (girlfriend Dominique), Jesse, and Samuel. Erik is blessed to have a great granddaughter Audrey, and soon to come great grandson Henry. And of course his bestowed friend and mother of his 4 children Barbara Pedersen. Dear brother of Tove (husband Hans), the late Axsel (wife Kirsten) and the late Holger (wife Elsebeth), all their children and grandchildren who live in Denmark. Erik will be missed and thought of fondly by his neighbours Tammy and Aaron Salem, his great friends, the Free Methodist church, and all that knew him. Erik was born in Bodum, Thy, Denmark April 11 1937. He migrated to Canada as a Mason May 31 1958 onboard the Stockholm. He landed in Halifax Nova Scotia, at the age of 21. Greeted in Toronto by his mom’s sister Eva and her husband Poul Overgaard -Thomson, the Very Reverend of the Danish Lutheran Church. Erik’s Danish customs continued with his friends and family around this church his whole life. Erik a proud Dane who loved being a Canadian, his cottage on Chandos, his garden and his pond at his home, Ontario and all the glory this province gave him. Erik travelled for work as an iron worker, and for leisure. He has read every book in English and Danish. Erik retired as an ironworker, right here in Peterborough. Once retired, Erik volunteered at St. Joseph’s Hospital, and then the PRHC.

    It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Widdicks on March 25, 2024 in Barrie, ON at Royal Victoria Hospital. He was 88 years old. John was born in Belleville, ON and lived in Trenton, ON most of his life. He is predeceased by his wife Eva (Boldrick).  He is also predeceased by his parents James and Carrie (Jordison) and his siblings Carol, Frank and Barbara (Nutley). He is survived by his children Lisa and Derek (Tracy) and his grandchildren Jordan (Jenna) and Lindsay. John was a longtime member of Ironworker’s Local 721 and was very proud of his work building bridges and buildings all over Ontario. He also had many interests and hobbies including archery, softball, hockey and skiing, a love of the outdoors and a love of building things.  He was always curious and interested in doing new things. Cremation has taken place.  A memorial service will be scheduled for a later date.

She was the spit fire, loving, considerate daughter to Pam (Don) and Sean (Mel) Shea and best friend and sister to Kyle (Kayla). Charlie Betts, of Verner, Ontario, originally of Prince Edward Island, dear father of Katherine Burch (Stephen) of Sutton, Karon O’Shell (Kevin) of Keswick, Tania Gale (Mat) of Keswick, James Betts (Cassandra) of Melville, Saskatchewan, and Keysha Sanford of Squamish, BC. Loving Grandfather of Joseph (Courtney), Matthew, Kate, Kara, and Joshua. Great Grandfather of Ava, and Emme, predeceased by his great grandson Noah. Dear brother of Beverly (Terry) of PEI. Predeceased by his brother James Betts. Fondly remembered by his extended family and friends. Charlie was a private pilot who loved to fly his Aeronca Chief. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his friends for years. Charlie was an iron worker and a member of Local 721 for 60 years and built many large structures in the City of Toronto. Cremation has taken place. A private celebration will be held at a later date.
