Unfortunately the IATSE lockout at the CNE continues despite every effort by the union to settle. The Labour Day parade will therefore be ending at Lamport Stadium. Lamport Stadium is on Liberty Street, just south of King and east of Dufferin. There will be music, speeches from IATSE and others, kids’ games , facepainting and hopefully a bouncy castle, concession stands offering food and non-alcoholic refreshments, a beer tent – with proceeds going to Local 58 strike fund.
Please send a message IMMEDIATELY to Mayor John Tory telling him how disappointing it is that he is refusing to step up and bring the dispute to a fair resolution. Mayor_Tory @toronto.ca
Our movement has been marching proudly in the streets of Toronto for 146 years. If by some miracle the dispute is settled, we will bring wristbands down to Queen + University on Monday and distribute them.
